Jahrestagung der International Communication Association (ICA) in Singapur für ihren Beitrag gemeinsam mit Oliver Quiring (Mainz) und Sven Engesser (Zürich) "Between Idiosyncratic Self-Interests and Professional Standards: A Contribution to the Understanding of Participatory Journalism in Web 2.0. Results From an Online Survey in Germany" mit dem Top Three Faculty Paper Award der Journalism Studies Interest Group ausgezeichnet.
Michael Meyen und Anke Fiedler erhielten für ihren Beitrag "The Totalitarian Destruction of the Public Sphere?: Public Communication in the GDR" den Top Faculty Paper Award der Communication History Interest Group.
Christian Baden wurde für seinen Beitrag "Contextualizing Frames in Political Discourse: Using Semantic Network Analysis to Investigate Political Parties’ Framing Strategies" mit dem Top Student Paper Award der Political Communication Division ausgezeichnet.
